About Opole

Opole is a voivodeship capital with 128,000 residents located in the South of Poland, near Czech and German border (54 km and 240 km respectively). Opole is a part of an  Agglomeration with 320,000 residents. The city closely cooperates with communes which form the agglomeration and the aim of such cooperation is to promote economic growth and new jobs creation.

The city prides itself on multiple convenient and fast railway connections, whose coverage more than doubles the national average. River transport serves as significant traffic route as well. There are two river ports on Oder, located within the commune’s administrative territory. The facilities at both ports include transshipment tank, railway siding and port crane adapted for transporting hundred of tonnes of cargo. The city is easily reached by road due to the first-rate road network whose most representative section is the international Dresden-Kiev transport corridor –  A4 motorway. The motorway makes it possible to reach the nearest international airports in Wrocław and Katowice (located approximately 100 km and 110 km from Opole respectively) in less than an hour. Furthermore,  Kamień Śląski airport, which is capable of receiving air taxis and flights outside regular air traffic, is located only 24 km from Opole.

The city of Opole has highly efficient public transportation system, adapted for the needs of investors in relation to both the location of new bus stops and the frequency of buses running. The importance of Public bike system is also growing and 35% of road network in Opole consists of traffic calming areas and bike lanes (124 km)
